Vitalant Takes the Stage at the AABB Annual Meeting
Vitalant, a leading nonprofit blood and biotherapies organization, is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming AABB Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas, from October 19-22, 2024. With AABB’s meeting theme of “Launch Into the Future of Blood & Biotherapies,” Vitalant and its Research Institute and Innovation Center will be represented by a strong contingent of employees, including10 program chairs and seven speakers participating in 15 sessions, underscoring Vitalant’s position as a driving force in the field.

The AABB Annual Meeting is a premier gathering for blood services and biotherapies professionals worldwide. In addition to program leadership and support, the following Vitalant leaders will receive awards:
- Landsteiner-Alter Award: Michael Busch, M.D., Ph.D., vice president of scientific affairs
- AABB President’s Award: David R. Green, president and CEO
- AABB President’s Award: Michael Busch, M.D., Ph.D., vice president of scientific affairs
- RISE Award: Graham Simmons, senior investigator, on behalf of the collaboration team, including U.C. Davis and Cerus
Vitalant is a proud supporter of the AABB Foundation, which raises funds to support early-stage investigators conducting impactful research on a range of medical conditions, including alloimmunization, sickle cell disease, West Nile virus, SARS CoV-2, malaria, anemia, hemophilia and more.
