Vitalant Takes the Stage at the AABB Annual Meeting

Vitalant, a leading nonprofit blood and biotherapies organization, is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming AABB Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas, from October 19-22, 2024. With AABB’s meeting theme of “Launch Into the Future of Blood & Biotherapies,” Vitalant and its Research Institute and Innovation Center will be represented by a strong contingent of employees, including10 program chairs and seven speakers participating in 15 sessions, underscoring Vitalant’s position as a driving force in the field.

The AABB Annual Meeting is a premier gathering for blood services and biotherapies professionals worldwide. In addition to program leadership and support, the following Vitalant leaders will receive awards:
- Landsteiner-Alter Award: Michael Busch, M.D., Ph.D., vice president of scientific affairs
- AABB President’s Award: David R. Green, president and CEO
- AABB President’s Award: Michael Busch, M.D., Ph.D., vice president of scientific affairs
- RISE Award: Graham Simmons, senior investigator, on behalf of the collaboration team, including U.C. Davis and Cerus
Vitalant is a proud supporter of the AABB Foundation, which raises funds to support early-stage investigators conducting impactful research on a range of medical conditions, including alloimmunization, sickle cell disease, West Nile virus, SARS CoV-2, malaria, anemia, hemophilia and more. It is also sponsoring the Biotherapies Pavilion, a specially designed networking space that provides biotherapies companies with new and curated opportunities to network with key audiences in the field and gain access to all the AABB Annual Meeting offers.
