The Vitalant Innovation Center is uniquely helping advance the science of transfusion medicine and biotherapies. A first-of-its-kind in the U.S., the Center brings together scientific research and translational development expertise to design innovative processes, develop and test new products, and lead the way to better help patients.

The Innovation Center provides a modular space to evaluate productivity and efficiency improvements in a production environment without impacting blood center operations.

The Center, housed alongside Vitalant’s Denver, Colorado blood services operations and Vitalant Research Institute campus, also prepares and distributes investigational blood products for clinical trials.

In addition to nearly 5,000 square feet of flexible space for contract manufacturing, equipment, software and product evaluation, the Center also expands Vitalant Research Institute’s capacity to collect research blood donations and biorepository capacity to source cryopreserved samples.
